Ever changing technology – it’s a blessing and a curse. A constant evolution.
Do you get hung up on what you already think you ‘know?’ Or, do you hear about emerging developments but have no idea how to integrate them into your environment? Do you want to be a hero and embrace change? I’ll let you in on a secret; You can be the Revolution. In fact, you ARE the Revolution!
“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the expert’s mind there are few.” – Shunryu Suzuki
At Blue Moon Digital, we are disrupting the norm, embracing the ‘beginner’s mind’ and revolutionizing the way retailers and e-commerce sites manage their businesses by utilizing Domo’s secure, scalable, customizable architecture.
For my fellow geeks out there, here are some of the Advanced Domo Developer features showcased at Domopalooza (#DP17) and used here at Blue Moon Digital:
DIY Connectors – if the 450+ built-in Domo connectors don’t work for extracting your source data, you can build your own utilizing the Custom Connector capability and a cloud-based API
Stacker – part of the Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) process that streamlines how you ingest data from multiple sources, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google Analytics presented in one Domo card/visualization
Upsert ability – reduce processing time by using Upsert database functionality to update an existing record or insert a new one in a Domo Dataset
Windowing functions – perform a calculation across a set of table rows that are somehow related to the current row, such as aggregation
R Studio plug-in – for the data scientist doing predictive analytics and forecasting
Utilizing the Zen Buddhist philosophy of Shoshin (beginner’s mind), the iterative Japanese concept of Kaizen (continuous improvement), our team of super smart nerds and Domo’s customizable platform – anything is possible.
Shoshin (beginner’s mind) + Kaizen (continuous improvement) + BMDi super smart nerds + Domo’s highly customizable platform
This formula of awesomeness allows us to create custom applications, help with your Domo implementation, provide answers to your business questions via easily accessible dashboards.
Here’s an example – Blue Moon Digital unveiled our Revenue Equation (RevEQ) application at #DP17 in March to an incredible reception. The RevEQ App allows you to see the performance of your digital marketing by channel, device type, and visitor type. It allows you to quickly change the filters of any of these dimensions, for any date range and comparison and return the results immediately. From there you have choices about how to react and respond and, as a result, revolutionize the way you do business.
Business Questions the RevEQ answers:
– What metrics are driving revenue to change?
– What device type is driving the most traffic?
– Do new or returning customers drive the most revenue?
– What channels are performing best or below expectations?
– How is my digital marketing strategy impacting revenue?
– How am I doing year-over-year, or any comp period?
– How is my site performing overall?
We are very excited about what we’ve created and think you will be, too!
Stay tuned for my next post where we dive deeper into the Japanese practices of Kaizen and Shoshin and how to apply them to growth in business.
