Stephen McDermott – Head of Industry, Retail at Google
Steve leads our NYC-based Specialty Retail team with a focus on Apparel & Accessories, delivering bespoke client solutions rooted in omni-channel excellence, data-driven performance, and branding. In his six years at Google, Steve has also worked closely with Healthcare and Food & Beverage clients, in addition to leading go-to-market efforts for new YouTube offerings. Prior to joining Google, Steve worked closely with partners on cross-platform marketing programs at Comcast’s Emerging Networks team. He began his career at Grey Advertising and spent nine years agency-side, working with clients including GlaxoSmithKline and P&G.
A New Jersey native (and mall veteran), Steve currently lives in Bergen County with his wife and four children.
Yong Su Kim – VP America, Google Marketing Solutions
Mr. Yong Su Kim is an Internet executive and former entrepreneur with leadership experience in sales, marketing, alliances, and product development at established companies and early stage startups in Silicon Valley, New York and Seoul, Korea. He currently leads the Small Business and Mid-market Sales teams focused on online marketing solutions in the United States, Canada, and South America. Prior to his current role, he led the sales strategy, planning, operations, and analytics for the Global SMB business which drives a significant portion of Google’s advertising revenue growth.
He is a former Mr. Kim received his MS in Computer Science from Stanford University and a BA in Computer Science from Columbia University.
Tim Reis – Director Performance Agencies
As Director of Google Marketing Services’ Performance Agencies, Tim leads a team dedicated to providing strategic and technical support to advertising agencies working to grow advertisers’ business through digital media. He is a veteran of 10 years at Google and more than 30 years in media sales serving in roles that have spanned print, television and online.
Tim is a frequent speaker at industry events including SXSW, IAB/MIXX, OMMA, Business Insider, SMX et al, and a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School. He is a former member of the North American Boards of Directors of the Mobile Marketing Association, the Promotion Marketing Association and the Direct Marketing Association’s Mobile-Digital Community Leadership Committee.
Julia Meter – Agency Developement Manager
Julia Meter is an Agency Development Manager and shopping product specialist. She works with a diverse range of agencies and clients, focusing on retail growth strategies. Prior to Google, Julia spent 5 years working as a Media Strategist at cross-functional advertising firms. Her latest role was as a Digital Manager at Mediavest here in New York.
She’s a proud Texan and avid traveler – she just knocked #35 off her list (only 65 more to go!).
Parker Block – Founder, Agoranet
Parker’s career in fashion retail and e-commerce spans twenty years and three continents working with VF Corp and the Otto Group. Parker currently is focused on the opportunities and challenges retailers face with the rise of alternative commerce platforms, mobile and changing consumer habits.
Cindy Brown – CEO & Founder of Blue Moon Digital, Inc.
Cindy is a mathematician turned digital guru who built the agency with the vision to get the right message, to the right audience, at the right moment, on the right device.
Cindy got her start in digital marketing way back in the late 90’s providing email strategy and email delivery services to large publishers and catalogers. From there, she cultivated her digital skills as the Vice President of Email Product Development and Operations at Experian.
When not donning her digital marketing cape, she can be found tickling the ivories of her baby grand, biking the beautiful mountain landscape with her husband, or cheering on the Denver Broncos with her two sons.
Steph Schmitt – Agency Development Manager at Google
Steph Schmitt has been an Agency Development Manager at Google for 4 years, partnering closely with Google’s Premier Partner agencies. She serves as a trusted digital marketing consultant to her agencies, focusing on driving success for their clients, and devising overall business growth strategies.
She has a strong focus in omni-channel retail, e-commerce, and mobile. Steph holds a B.S. in Marketing & International Business from Georgetown University, McDonough School of Business.
Garrett Hood – VP of Digital Media at Blue Moon Digital, Inc.
Garrett spearheads overall digital media strategy and oversees the paid media channels of PPC, Affiliate, Display, Paid Social and Influencer. He has facilitated growth for BMDi clients by breaking down channel silos and identifying efficiencies in managing media budgets holistically.
Garrett has a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Montana. Outside of work, Garrett can be found skiing, mountain biking or fly fishing.
